Wick River Zip-LIne

Having surviced an Abseil to raise money for CLIC Sargent, our intrepid Lyall is planning to scare himself silly by crossing Wick River on a Zip Slide!

He will be raising funds again for CLIC Sargent and anyone wishing to sponsor him should phone Lyall at the manse.

The Slide will be taking place on 24th July at Wick Riverside, so please come along and cheer him on - and bring your water-wings in case he falls in!

 ESME IN SHETLAND

Esme and Morven are planning to spend 6 weeks doing God's Work amongst the Vikings up in Shetland.

From 8th - 20th July she will be in Out Skerries, working with the local congregation and holding services on 11th and 18th.

21st - 31st July - God will send Esme where he most needs her during this time, perhaps to do patoral work, perhaps to hold a service. HE knows - at this stage, even Esme doesn't!

1st - 16th August: Esme will be working with Rev Wilma Johnstone of Burra and Tngwall, the interim moderator for Lerwick and Bressay. Highlights include preaching in St Columba's in Lerwick on 1st and 15th August.

PLEASE JOIN US IN PRAYERS FOR ESME IN HER MISSION.

May God guide her and hold her safe in the palm of his hand till she returns safe home to us in Canisbay.

Queen Mother's Memorial

The memorial Plaque to the Queen Mother is now in place outside the Hall, along with the row of trees planted in her memory.

The picture shows David Polson who built the stone plinth  - and a lovely job he made of it too, even if he does look as though he thinks Jeanne's camera is actually a shotgun!

 Soup and Sweet Lunches - Thursday 12.30 

Soup and Sweet lunches will be available in the Church Hall every Thursday from about 12.30 to around 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy a bite to eat along with good company - it is not just for older people, but for anyone who finds themselves at a loose end on Thursday lunchtime. Please bring a friend - especially anyone who you think might enjoy the company! There are plenty of cars about so if you would like a lift down, just lift the phone and call Jeanne on 611282 and she will sort out a lift!

Please note that the regular weekly service begins at 12 noon
